It appears we have an elderly gentleman that is lost and was last seen searching for the Super Bowl and refuses to ask for directions. He found one in 1996 but had a lot of help from someone who had already drawn a map for him. Ever since then it’s been a long struggle even after he appointed himself GM of the team.
Don’t worry, all is not lost as the GM has figured out that Cowboy fans are pretty loyal, and even more fans just look at the games as a social event, and have some disposable income to spend on jerseys, hats, and other sorts of regalia.
Don’t worry either that the stadium in Arlington, not Dallas, isn’t even oriented north-south—it’s east-west, and when there is a 3:30PM game, either the Cowboys or the opposing team are blinded by the sun setting in the west, even though there are blackout curtains that could be put up to avoid that embarrassing situation.
Last, but not least, don’t worry that anything will change going forward, as long as the homers keep beings homers, and the dollars roll in, there is no incentive to change anything. This will be the old man’s legacy—and his obsession with taking all the credit will finally be well deserved.
