art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colors, and textures.

The purpose was to capture the rose but the focus jumped to the buds and totally threw the rose out of focus. I noticed how sharp the buds were and how strange the overall photo was and decided beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.
