Buyer Beware!

Now that I have your attention I’ll explain.

We all know and most likely have had an experience with a company or individual who does not have your best interest in mind.

There are also a lot of individuals in the electrical business that do not carry the proper licensing or insurance required by the state. Only a master electrician can pull permits for the electrical portion of a project. An electrical contractor, master electrician or electrical service business that is available for hire to the general public is required to have an electrical contractor’s license and a stipulation of that license is that they maintain liability insurance that will cover any problems should they arise on any electrical service, equipment, etc. they have provided or performed at your home or business.

Any licensed business or individual will be more than happy provide the proper documentation upon request. If not I would be very wary of letting them proceed. If you ever have a problem there is no recourse or way for you to pursue warranty or insurance claims should the need arise.

I have provided links on my pages that will let you search all types of licenses. You will need to ask for proof of insurance which is not a problem or shouldn’t be. I maintain a $2 million dollar amount general liability policy for all electrical work provided by me and my company.  I can have copies mailed, emailed or faxed same day if necessary.  It gives me and my customers peace of mind.

I am not trying to tell you who you should use or how to handle your business. I just want to make sure you are treated fairly, legally and safely.
